athletic teams, veterans' works, a national "Hoop Shoot" free-throw contest involving more than 3 million children, physical and occupational therapy programs, and patriotic programs. The youth of our country have always been important to the Order. It is for this reason the Elks Drug Awareness Education Program was launched to warn primary grade students and their parents of the dangers in drug use. Additionally, every lodge observes June 14th as Flag Day, a tradition which the Elks began in 1907 and was later adopted by the Congress as an official observance.

Veterans, Youth, Americanism, Community, Social
We believe in tradition and what better way to show tradition than focusing on the core concepts that allow us to be a great, free, and prosperous nation. We are proud Americans who understand that by reaching out to the youth, our future generations, we can help lead them in becoming strong, community minded patriots who will give back to our society. We also know we need to take care of our Veterans and leave no man or woman lost to his or hers own battles, that’s why we have numerous charities we support both local and throughout the country. Of course we try to do all this by engaging within the communities in our local States, Cities, and Towns across the country. Many local communities rely on Elks charity for their help both financially and support. We do this in many ways. The help and support of the community such as donating for use of space in our social clubs or contributions to the local Christmas fund. We also put on fun social events such as our annual Elk Roundup which is a 4 day event that our members and guest truly enjoy. Also we host monthly steak dinners where all are welcome and these funds help keep our mission objectives moving forward.
